On May 20th, 1947 Christina disappeared from the cottage, and curiously that same day Ronald’s cottage had mysteriously caught on fire. Ronald had returned to the cabin only to find a disoriented Jack sitting in the cabin with an apparent head injury and pulled him out of the blaze. Ronald searched for Christina but was unsuccessful in his search for her. He then took Jack on a boat to Severn Falls to reach a car and drive him to the hospital and contacted the police. Ronald then discovered the situation had become even worse when Christina’s body was found by Neville Sweet and the owner of a boathouse in the area. She was found in nine inches of water only 150 feet away from the cottage.
